Where Do The Dots Lead You?
Hello My Dear Friends,
I am so sorry I just started posting blogposts without taking the time to tell you a bit about the originator of Life's Treasures Gifts. That would be me, Tamera (sounds like "camera"). I love things that are made from one's hands, their own creativity and vision I was always one who admired creative people. It took time and a series of life experiences for me to realize that God blessed me to create - in my own way and my own expression. I am so grateful that God gave me an in-depth way of seeing things beyond what they seem. I am not only speaking of physical items but it includes people through their behavior and their personal histories. I often ask, "Why do they act that way? Is there a reason they do the things they do or think and believe the things they think and believe?" This curiosity led to my academic education which is surrounded by various topics in Psychology, the study of mind and behavior. Another thing, my husband and I love vintage and antiques! We have a ball going to antique malls (so much that we have a vendor's booth in Five Forks Antique Mall, Lilburn, GA), estate sales, garage and yard sales, thrift stores, flea markets, and collector shops. It's funny how your experiences, talents (many times, hidden talents), and personality traits throughout your life are somehow connected by the dots to bring you to the place you are.
I invite you all to come along with me in my journey of connecting my personal dots. The older I get I can see how things connect. It amazes me everyday when I look back on how I got to this very point. More and more dots are connecting everyday. One of my repeated prayers have been for strategic relationships and divine connections in this business. The dots that led to Life's Treasures Gifts come from my life experiences, relationships and childhood to my education, our business ventures, my children, my knee injury and my work experiences and careers. I feel like I am always learning and discovering about myself - who God created me to be. I am grateful that God raises my awareness to the world around me and to Him. Proverbs 18:15 says, "The heart of the discerning get knowledge. The ear of the wise seeks knowledge." I am in a season of my life where I am learning and discovering how to navigate and to treasure positive and nurturing relationships. I am learning to treasure the good people in my life. Good relationships are to be two-way streets. Don't be the only one on the receiving end. Let those special people know that they matter to you.
- What are some turning points in your life that have raised your awareness of who you are?
- Have you taken the time to pay closer attention to the things that are around you? To better understand?
- What kinds of things have been "revealed" to you about the person you have come to be?
Call to action:
- Pay attention to the people in your life.
- Be aware of what they bring to you.
- Be aware of what you bring to them.
