Tamera Young is a passionate gift designer specializing in thoughtful and meaningful gifts. She loves putting a fresh, new twist on old things, crafting personalized experiences that build lasting memories and strengthen relationships. From imaginative, high-standard gift baskets to elegant, sustainable upcycled jewelry and trinket boxes, she promotes heart-to-heart giving for any occasion. Aside from gift designing, Tamera and her husband, Louis, both love curating vintage home decor and collectibles to create unique spaces of elegance, quality, and sophistication. Helping People, One Gift at a Time

Not only is Tamera passionate about gifting and creating, she is also passionate about helping people. She is a licensed health insurance agent focusing on helping seniors and eligible recipients select the best Medicare health plan to fit their needs and budget. Her heart for service extends into every area of her life. All of her career steps somehow leads to this point of service- from banking to stay-at-home mother to antique furniture sales to parent/child community advocate to life coach to customer service pro to vintage/antique vendor and furniture refinisher to insurance agent to gift designer!

The Journey to Meaningful Gifting

There have been times throughout Tamera's life that she was not able to give the "best" or most expensive gifts. Oh, how it hurt that she couldn't get that gift to show them that she cared, she thought. Then she learned that the "best" gifts were the gifts that are thoughtful and meaningful. Those gifts don't always cost outrageous amounts of money. She learned how to use her creativity and her own resources along with precious memories and details to express sentimental acts of kindness and appreciation.

To learn more about Tamera's heart and soul, she has included her blog, Treasures in the Gift Blog, where the art of giving meets the heart of the giver. She is spiritually rooted and she explains how we ground our generosity in the truth of being God's poiema (workmanship), often drawing from scriptural inspiration like Proverbs 11:25. A generous person will prosper, whoever refreshes others will be refreshed. 

The story behind the gift:

I haven't seen my brother for about 4 - 5 years. We live in different states. I live in Georgia and he lives in Illinois. He had recently celebrated a monumental birthday in November. He and his WHOLE family-his wife, 2 adult children and spouse, and grandchildren-all travel together, which I find so amazing!  In July, He called and told me that he wanted to come and visit me in Atlanta! I was so excited and so touched. I refinished this trinket box by painting the outside and adding embellishments to give it a lift  and some meaning. I included more gifts on the inside: a watch, 2 tiger eye beaded bracelets, and a beautiful metallic gold "M" for Michael. I loved the trinket box because not only was it a lovely box on the outside but it was useful for everyday use on the inside. It is a one-of-a-kind gift that keeps giving every single day!
